It comes from vines planted in 1953 on gray marl soils from Lias on a south-facing slope in the lieu-dit Fertans in Montigny-lès-Arsures. It has 12.5% alcohol and is fine-boned, with grip and a medium body and some rusticity in the shape of brick dust.
